Details

Add an iconic Hornby Flying Scotsman to your model railway at Gaugemaster. It’s arguably the most famous locomotive in the world, with the model a thing of real beauty - it’ll be the jewel in the crown of your collection. The Hornby r1255m Flying Scotsman Train Set features the brand’s signature craftsmanship in an OO gauge, 1:76 scale model.

The iconic Flying Scotsman was built at Doncaster Works at a cost of just under £8,000, as the first locomotive of the newly formed London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley, the Flying Scotsman got its name as it served the daily London to Edinburgh rail service; in May 1928, it carried out the first non-stop service on the route, and became the first UK locomotive to reach 100mph in 1934.

Today, you can see the majestic locomotive on display at the National Railway Museum in York, and you can add a stunning replica to your own model railway thanks to the Hornby Flying Scotsman Train Set. With its smart green finish and beautiful craftsmanship, the Flying Scotsman model is guaranteed to become your pride and joy.
