The United States avoided entering the First World War until it was discovered that Germany was trying to encourage Mexico to invade the country. They decalred war on Germany in April 1917. Although only taking part in fighting in 1918, their sheer numbers of 4 million were key in demoralising the German Military that eventually led to their defeat.
As they began to arrive in France in 1918, they changed their uniforms to the more practical one used by Britain.
This set depicts U.S infantry on the western front in 1917 until early 1918. Their equipment includes light machine guns and a remote-controlled rifle.
