CRAIG WEATHERLEY explains how to fit these new lighting strips to N Gauge Coaches.
These N Gauge Coach Lighting Strips have been developed to fit almost every type and shape of N gauge coach from all different manufacturers, at a price that won’t break the bank and would make your coaches come to life. This product has been adapted to suit every type of modeller from the old steam era to modern image.
Working from a battery rather than track pickups means that there is no flickering from dirty track and can also easily be removed from the coach to change the battery. It is motion sensitive, after one small movement lights come on automatically and stay on all the time the coach is moving, however when stopping at signals or stations the lights will not turn off until 4 minutes of non-movement, meaning the lights don't randomly turn off just because the train stops! Obviously this means that no switches are needed as the unit will turn off once you have finished running your layout.
Below is a step by step guide into fitting these new products.
Take your coach and carefully remove the roof. The instructions which came with the coach may show you the safest way to do this.
Make sure that no obstructions are in the way of the lighting strip being fitted to the underside of the roof. Carefully remove anything in the way such as pins.
Fit the battery into the unit.
Stick the coach lighting strip to the underside of the roof either with blu-tack or sticky pads.
Fit the roof back onto the coach.
See your coach come to life.
