CRAIG WEATHERLEY reports from this local show, weekend 24th & 25th June 2017.
At the beginning of 2017 we were asked by the Bluebell Railway to help out at their upcoming Model Railway weekend in June, and as a Southern steam fanatic I decided to take up the offer and go and look at trains all weekend! Sorry... I meant help work in their shop demoing some of our products, such as the upcoming layout control system UNITY, and other controllers and modules in our range. The Bluebell Railway is very important to us so helping out that weekend was a must.

During the show I had a chance to have a look around at some of the amazing model railways on display and have a chat with some of the other people involved. The layouts that attended covered O, N, and OO Scales, and a model tram system.
Here are some pictures of some of the model railways which caught my eye

Obviously we can’t talk about the Bluebell Railway without mentioning the full size locomotives which were in service on the day. During the weekend there were three services on the line; an H Class running to East Grinstead, a Q Class also running to East Grinstead, and lastly shuttle service between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes which was being pulled two small tank engines (Baxter and Bluebell).
Below are some pictures of the locos on roster over the weekend.
SECR Class P No. 323 'Bluebell'
Fletcher Jennings 0-4-0T 'Captain Baxter'
BR Q Class No. 30541
SECR Class H No. 263
At one point during the weekend I was lucky enough to ride the footplate of the H class locomotive on the service to East Grinstead. This for me was the highlight of the whole event.
