Its all in the title, this kit can be finished either as a Village shop or Public House, its up to you - although it can be adapted to be even more structures as I will explain later.

The kit is a joy to put together and surprisingly from just three major sprues, if you don’t include the separate telephone box moulding.

As always it helps if you have a few basic tools but really all you need is in the picture below. A A4 Cutting Mat is to me a must when using the Soft Grip Knife to cut away the parts from the sprues and the Expert Glue from Faller with its fine metal applicator is the ideal adhesive to stick the building together.

Although the finished kit looks quite impressive compared some of the other model kit structures it is still just four walls and a roof moulding, although the roof on the extension is a separate part as is the awning. I found sticking the window frames into each opening before sticking the four wall sections together at the same time a benefit but I’ll let you decide on that.

As with other kits in the Fordhampton range you can of course paint the window frames a different colour before assembly to make your building unique but I do think for either the Village Stores or the Pub, the colours the kit comes in suits those buildings well. Your biggest decision in the end will be Pub or Store? We have given you the choice by supplying you with a set of self adhesive stickers to finish the building either way. These can be added to with signs from the excellent Tiny Signs range.

We have also included the realistic curtain sheet which of course is entirely up to you if you use or not. So that’s it then - or is it? Well of course not, for a start if one was to source their own labels from either photos or from a paint type computer program you could turn this into anything you wanted, a Rural Bank, a Restaurant, a gift shop - it’s almost endless. I can also see this without any of the signs attached as a family home or even a farm house and for the slightly more adventurous one can always move the garage style door round to the front of the building with a bit of kit bashing.
