This event, held by Lord March and his team at Goodwood, has become one of the highlights of the classic motorsport calendar. If you are into slot cars, you are guaranteed to enjoy this event. If you have not been before, put it on your bucket list of things to do. It is usually held in September and the weather has generally been kind. Apart for a little drizzle on Sunday the sun shone over the Friday and Saturday of the event. Here are just a few of the hundreds of photos that I took at this year’s event.

This McLaren Elva was shot from the roof of the pits. A model of this actual car is available from Thunderslot as TSLCA00401S-W.

Mr Bean goes racing? Rowan Atkinson behind the wheel of his MKVII Jaguar racing saloon.

This Lotus 25 spun out right in front of me. The ex-Jim Clark F1 car from 1962 was available from Scalextric as C4195.

Shot of the Whitsun Trophy cars in the pit lane. Many of the cars in this race, which included GT40s, Lola T70s, McLarens etc., have been produced as slot cars.

AC/DC Frontman Brian Johnson on the bonnet of his Mini Cooper S. Actually, it wasn’t his Mini as he told me he had blown his up during testing at Goodwood the previous week! The classic Mini is available from Scalextric. Check out the Scalextric Mini Cooper Triple pack - C4030A.

Le Mans ’66? No, Goodwood 2021! This is the genuine ‘Ford France’ car that was entered into the 1966 race and covered by Fly Car Model some years ago. Plenty of other versions of the GT40 have and are still available, from Fly, NSR, Scalextric and Slot.it.
