Description
Prototype
German Federal Railroad (DB) class 38.10-40 steam locomotive with a tub tender with Witte smoke deflectors and 2 boiler superstructures. Former Prussian P8.
The steam locomotive built over 3,300 times, it is still an icon of passenger transport today: the Prussian P8. The variant with a tub tender is outstanding. When taking over the locomotives, the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) not only replaced the smoke deflectors (with the Witte design), but also equipped a large number of them with the modern tender design. Completely redesigned tender in metal, manufactured using the zinc die-casting process and a highly detailed work of art in itself.
Model
Chassis, locomotive body, tender and attachments are largely made of metal. Highly detailed model with many separately applied details and a detailed driver's cab. With digital decoder mfx, controlled high-efficiency propulsion and sound generator with wheel-synchronous driving sounds as well as extensive sound functions. Operation with alternating current, direct current, Märklin Digital and DCC possible. 3 axles powered. Built-in smoke generator with steam output synchronized with the wheel and cylinder steam.
Triple headlights on the locomotive and tender with epoch-appropriate light colors that change with the direction of travel. Headlights and smoke generator will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white light-emitting diodes (LED). With cab and fire box lighting. The locomotive has a screw coupling at the front and a screw coupling at the tender.
