The locomotives of the series 2095 delivered from 1958 on, formed the backbone of the ÖBB on the diesel-powered narrow-gauge lines for decades. They were used in the goods and passenger transport particularly in combination with rollbocks and roll cars.
Today, some of the locomotives are used on tourist lines such as the ""Krimmlerbahn"", between Zell-am-See and Krimml and on the ""Waldviertelbahn"" which is operated by the NÖVOG Gmünd.
