In the 1980s, the CSD and the DR decided to procure two-system locomotives in order to simplify the constantly growing traffic and operational processes in cross-border traffic on the Berlin-Dresden-Prague route.
The expansion of the Decín-Prague connection for a maximum speed of 160 km/h made it necessary to upgrade some locomotives. From 1994, six Czech locomotives Rh 372 were adapted for faster international travel and have since operated under the class designation 371 - "Turbobastard". The converted machines housed the CD in the Prague depot.
"Sound-ready" models have a jumper plug for use on your analogue system, a loudspeaker and a buffer capacitor. Subsequent digitization can therefore be carried out independently. You can find an instruction video on the ROCO YouTube channel.
This gives you the greatest possible flexibility in the technical design of your models: You can immediately enjoy analogue driving fun and still have the choice of the extent to which you would like to digitize your model at a later date.
Other Sound Ready Models are also available to add to your collection.
