In 1951 after the Second World War, the M47 Patton was the main battle tank of the US Army, which began production as a successor to the M46 Patton. The vehicle inherited from the M46 is equipped with an air-cooled gasoline engine with an output of 810 horsepower, and the maximum speed is 48km/h. The main gun was equipped with a 50 caliber 90 mm rifle and was equipped with the latest stereo rangefinder at the time.
Although more than 8,500 M47s were produced, they were deployed to the Western countries such as Germany, France and Austria in a short period of time in the US military. Above all, Germany introduced about 1,100 tanks from 1956 to 1957 and deployed them in tank divisions and mechanized infantry divisions. It was operated as a German main battle tank in the early days. In addition, in the German Federal Army M47, a slender plate-like rain guard and a smoke bomb launcher that prevent rain from entering the engine room have been added to the turret.
This kit is produced in pre-coloured plastic so additinal painting will be required. We recommend the use of Tamiya Glue to construct this kit.
