Many of us up and down the country have received a Scalextric or other slot car starter set throughout the years, and this event is all about the racing. Come along and race the day away at this event that is all about cars and speed. During the day, we will have a variety of slot car tracks on-site to test your skills and pit your driving abilities against those of your family and friends.
We have the Policar Factory Verona four-lane layout which has been featured at the UK Slot Car Festival, SCX 1:32 and 1:43 scale tracks racing some of the most recent releases, and a large four-lane club-sized track offering a unique opportunity to take part in a charity race event as outlined below.
Members of the Worthing HO Racing Club will also be in attendance, hosting a competition to see who can be fastest around their track, with prizes to be won. Alongside all the racing, there will be displays from manufacturers producing slot cars and collectable vehicles. We are also pleased to have partnered with local car dealership Man Cave , which will showcase a number of cars and bikes at this event.
Not only that, we will also be showcasing all the automobile products we stock, including Diecast Collectibles and Model Vehicle Kits.
We are proud to announce that we will also be hosting a charity race supported by NSR. This race will take place throughout the event, and everyone is welcome to compete; however, all participants must abide by the official NSR rules, which can be found here.
Please Note: Motors will not be provided as per the rules, but only the standard NSR motor is permitted. A control tyre will be provided by the race organiser.
The top three winners will walk away with an NSR car and the titles of Gaugemaster Charity Race champion and runners-up.
We want to make this event as inclusive as possible, so we will offer ready-to-race Cars on the day with dedicated staff on hand to help you through the race rules. The race costs £5.00 to enter and is a charity race with all entry fees being donated to Chestnut Tree House. .
Warm-up and Practice will begin at 10:30, with racers offered the chance to warm up their cars, tune their cars in line with the official rules, and familiarize themselves with the track's twists and turns before a car inspection is undertaken at 11:30. After a short break the checkered flag is dropped, signalling the start of the race at 12:00. Each racer will get a chance to race on all lanes throughout the race, and the winner will be decided by the most laps undertaken! We can’t wait to see you there!
Don’t forget to view the other events happening throughout August.
