The much-loved Kestrel Designs company was bought by Gaugemaster in 2009 from founders David and Elaine Lidgate, further strengthening Gaugemaster’s position as one of the largest N Gauge suppliers in the world. The majority of Kestrel N Gauge kits are manufactured in the United Kingdom, which allows maximum flexibility in production, as well as the opportunity to continue to offer these products at great value prices.

In the Kestrel model kits collection, all the traditional railway buildings are there, such as a station, a signal box, a goods shed, and platform straights. The Kestrel Designs’ terraced house kits are very popular, and whole streets can be constructed rapidly. The church is always a focal point of a town or village, while rural communities are also represented with a variety of farm buildings and traditional fencing available in brown or white.

There is even a range of 3D-printed detailing items, such as Telephone Boxes, Skips, and Dustbins - although tiny, these really do add an extra layer of realism and believability to your model railway. Meanwhile, Kestrel kits in the GM1 range are larger boxed kits, but these items are still relatively easy to construct, despite their slightly more complex subject matter.

Kestrel N Gauge Kits are pre-coloured, but of course would benefit from painting and/or weathering. Glue is not provided with Kestrel kits, but we recommend Deluxe Materials Plastic Magic as a great choice for constructing them.
