Our retail outlet, The Engine Shed, has been within Gaugemaster HQ in Ford since 1989. Since opening, we have welcomed countless customers, young and old, through our doors who have been in search of model railway products, slot car tracks, model kits, and collectables, and it is our pleasure to share our vast knowledge and experience in these subjects to help anyone find the products they want and need. For instance, did you know that the most popular model railway scale is OO Scale, followed by N Scale?
We stock an extensive range of products from the best manufacturers from around the world. If you can't find something you are after, just ask one of our knowledgeable team, who will be more than happy to help.

Being a model railway company, it makes sense to be located next to a railway station. Ford Station is located on the South Coast Mainline, approximately halfway between Brighton and Portsmouth. The station is regularly serviced by trains from both these stations and has direct connections to London Victoria. You can plan your journey to us using the National Rail Journey Planner.
We are only a few miles from the main South Coast trunk road, the A27. From the north, the A24 and A29 offer direct routes from the M25 and London. Use the BN18 0BN postcode for easy location on all good satnavs and map software.
When arriving, you will find a car park at the rear of our building with plenty of space to park while you enjoy shopping with us. There are numerous restaurants and cafes in the local area, with Edgecomes Tea & Coffee Company serving tea and coffee less than a mile down the road and a selection of pastries and snacks that are perfect for a quick pit stop. Check out their website for their opening times and details.
Before you visit, you can even take a virtual tour of our shop. This interactive walk-through shows just how many products are on display, with more added all the time. Our shop is constantly changing so every time you pop back there will be more to see.
If you have any questions about visiting us, the products we stock, or the hobby in general, please contact us, and we will be happy to help.
