Train-Tech (now a Gaugemaster company) are an award winning manufacturer of incredibly user-friendly and reliable products, designed to enhance and improve any model railway.
Launched at the London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace in March 2012, Train-Tech started out with just six product ranges featured in a single A4 Trifold colour flyer.
Several of the initial products were innovative designs never seen before, including clip-in buffer lights, a low-cost track tester and its most ambitious product, a self-contained DCC fitted colour light signal which just clipped into the track and set up in seconds using a new concept Train-Tech called ‘One touch DCC’.
Only the Track Tester, Buffer Lights and some of the DC signal kits were available to buy at the show, but after the initial stock of Buffer lights sold out in the first morning and an approach by trade distributor Gaugemaster we felt we might be onto something….
After nine years, as of March 2021 Train-Tech has over 300 products spanning 25 ranges and it is estimated that over 80,000 Train-Tech products have so far been supplied either direct by mail order and exhibitions or by the model railway retailers.
Train-Tech has won three prestigious Innovation of the Year awards for its DCC fitted signals, Automatic Sensor Signals and Smart Screen animated message boards.
In November 2021, the Train-Tech brand was sold to Gaugemaster to enable founders David & Tammy Palmer to enjoy some well-earned downtime. But with design engineer Andy now absorbed into the Gaugemaster family and David & Tammy never far away, a long and exciting future for the brand is assured under new its new stewardship.
