2011 marked the 40th anniversary of Amtrak – to commemorate this historic birthday, Amtrak painted a number of its locomotives into a series of anniversary schemes, each taking design cues from a different paint and logo era from the railroad’s history. These units were built at the end of the 1990's and quickly became a well known part of the Amtrak fleet. By 2001 over 300 of these units were built for Amtrak, Metro-North, and Via Rail.
These models feature superb detail on the body, all wheel pickups, directional lighting and scale knuckle couplings.
There are many other Amtrak Viewliner Items available to add to this model.
