The Mercedes racing transporter "The Blue Wonder" Bj. 1955-1967 with a 300 SLR Roadster Scale H0 / 1:87 plastic model set, very detailed design and printing, filigree rims, length: 79mm.
This spectacular van was built in 1955 at the request of the successful racing director Alfred Neubauer, on the extended chassis of a Mercedes-Benz 300 S and with the engine of the 300 SL. For many years it was the "fastest truck in the world" and was used exclusively to transport Mercedes-Benz racing cars. From 1956 the racing transporter served as an exhibition vehicle and eye-catcher in the USA and was later scrapped.
A perfect replica is now in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. All model images show hand-painted pre-series samples! Original images © Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz licensed product
