The Yo 5000 type is a vehicle that has been converted from a two-stage traveling system of the Yo 3500 type slow speed vehicle from 1959 (1959) to be used as a slow speed vehicle of the container limited express "Takarago" and is compatible with maximum 85 km travel.

Later, a new car was added as the Yo 5000, and it was used as a cargo train conductor.
