WELCOME TO OUR GIANT SELECTION OF TT GAUGE TRACK

If you are interested in extending your model railway with more track, buying track for the first time or perhaps buying some track as a gift, then you’ve come to the right place

TT Gauge is 1:120 Scale and was historically a popular scale in Eastern Europe.  It has some British prominence as it was a commercially available scale many years ago using the TT (Table Top) name but over time, TT Gauge eventually became obsolete.  This changed in the 2020s, when Hornby took the bold decision to reintroduce TT Gauge to a UK audience, branded ‘TT:120’ with a selection of starter sets, locomotives, coaches, wagons, track and accessories.   Unlike the other scales, there is absolutely no scale discrepancy between British TT Gauge and the offerings from other European manufacturers.  This means that everything is completely compatible, from the couplings fitted to the locomotives and rolling stock through to the sizing of the trains themselves, the buildings and the model figures.

The most popular brands for TT Gauge Track are Hornby who offer a sectional track system and Peco, who offer both a sectional system and a flexible track system.  Roco and Gaugemaster also offer a sectional track system.

The first decision you need to make is whether to use a sectional track system from Hornby, Peco, Roco or Gaugemaster or to use Peco’s streamline (flexible) system.

The advantages of sectional track is that it is plug together with defined radiuses and the geometry all links together (within the same brand) to give you a huge number of possibilities and no annoying gaps!  The disadvantage is that there is a more limited range of Turnouts (points) and crossings

Flexible track is exactly that and with Peco Streamline offering a huge and comprehensive selection, you can create almost any model railway you wish as turnouts (points) are available in different sizes.  The disadvantage of flexible track is that it has to be cut to size and much more consideration needs to be given to the tightness of the curves and clearances, so that your locomotives and rolling stock don’t derail.

We are one of the largest suppliers of TT Gauge Track in the world and our experienced expert team (who are all modellers themselves) are on hand to guide you with any advice or suggestions you might need.  Enhance your modelling by buying your Hornby, Peco, Roco or Gaugemaster TT Gauge Track directly from Gaugemaster – the model shop for BIG imaginations.
