1:1200 Scale model of a German Bismarck Battleship.

The Bismarck, the flagship of the Reich's warship fleet, was the largest German warship alongside the Tirpitz. Her displacement reached 50,900 tons, her crew numbered 2,092 men. It entered service on August 24, 1940 and was involved in Operation Rheinübung on May 18, 1941. Accompanied by Prinz Eugen, he was soon spotted by British aerial reconnaissance aircraft. On May 25, 1941, a battle with the Hood ended in the Hood's loss. A long chase ensued and he was again targeted by British ships, the battleships King George V and HMS Rodney. r She was finally sunk by her crew on May 27, 1941, r less than 490 km from the French coast.
