The road attendants of the sixties knew that they could rely on it - rain or shine. This Mercedes-Benz LAK 710 flatbed tipper mirrors on the 1:87 scale the reality at the municipal building yards and road construction offices of the time. The powers that be expected their emergency vehicles to be as flexible as possible. Mounted on top of an agile lorry, the flatbed was supposed to be tiltable and easily loadable everywhere. WIKING has miniaturised the traditional short hood from Mercedes-Benz with scores of details and also furnished it with the appealing ornamental trim that made the Mercedes-Benz hoods unmistakable in those years.
Add to this that the tipper can tilt all the way to an upright position and you have a short hood that can truly be called a construction site classic. These features made the compact and highly manoeuvrable tipper instantly recognisable at municipal building yards and road maintenance departments. The headlamps have, of course, been included as transparent inserts. At Mercedes-Benz in Mannheim, the 7.5-ton and 14- ton models rolled off the production line for use in distribution traffic and construction site applications.
1:87 Scale model produced in finely detailed High Quality Plastic. This model features lots of expertly applied details as based on the prototype.
