Background

Within the Universal Century timeline, the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam appears in Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ (U.C. 0088), piloted by Judau Ashta.

It was developed by the AEUG/Karaba alliance as a successor to earlier transforming Gundams such as the Zeta Gundam. The design philosophy behind the ZZ was to create a mobile suit with overwhelming firepower and versatility, capable of standing up to elite Neo Zeon forces during the First Neo Zeon War.
