Background

Within the Cosmic Era timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam is a ZAFT prototype mobile suit developed alongside the Freedom Gundam as part of the second generation of high-performance Coordinated mobile suits.

It is assigned to Athrun Zala, and is designed for coordinated operations alongside the Freedom Gundam, combining close-range combat capability with high mobility and tactical flexibility. Unlike more heavily ranged-focused units, Justice is designed to engage at multiple ranges while maintaining strong battlefield mobility through its Fatum-00 system.
