Description
Gundam Aerial Master Grade Super Deformed Kit
Details:
The MGSD Gundam Aerial (MK68846) is a snap-fit model kit from Bandai’s MGSD (Master Grade Super Deformed) line, representing the XVX-016 Gundam Aerial from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, piloted by Suletta Mercury.
This kit is built in a super deformed (SD) proportion style, but it incorporates engineering concepts inspired by Master Grade kits, including a detailed internal structure, layered armour design, and high part separation for colour accuracy. It is designed for snap-fit assembly with no glue required, using pre-coloured parts and detailed moulding to achieve a premium finish straight from the runners.
Despite its compact SD proportions, the MGSD Aerial is mechanically dense. It features a sophisticated internal frame system with metallic-style parts and multi-layer construction that gives it a “high detail per size” appearance. The kit also includes articulation gimmicks such as moving armour sections, allowing for expressive kneeling and action poses that are more advanced than typical SD kits.
A key feature of the Aerial design is its GUND-Bit shield system, which is represented in MGSD form with modular components that can be detached and rearranged. The kit also includes beam weapons such as a beam rifle and beam sabres, along with effect parts representing the mobile suit’s Permet Score system states depending on configuration.
At SD scale, the proportions are intentionally stylised, with a larger head and shortened limbs, but the engineering underneath is closer in complexity to higher-grade Gunpla lines than traditional SD kits.

Background
Within the Ad Stella timeline of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, the Gundam Aerial is a highly advanced mobile suit developed by the Vanadis Institute and operated by Suletta Mercury.
It is built around GUND-ARM technology, a controversial system that enables enhanced human-machine interface control and allows remote weapon systems known as GUND-Bits to operate independently. These bits form both offensive formations and defensive shields, making Aerial highly versatile in combat.
The mobile suit plays a central role in the series’ narrative, particularly in relation to corporate conflict, technological ethics, and the political consequences of GUND technology. Suletta’s bond with Aerial is also a key emotional element of the story.
The MGSD interpretation compresses these complex systems into a stylised SD format while preserving the core identity of the mobile suit and its shield-based bit system.
