Douglas DC-3 Martin's Air Charter PH-MAA (1:200)
Johan Martin Schroeder was a trailblazer in Dutch commercial aviation. As a pilot, he founded Martin’s Air Charter in 1958, the first charter airline in The Netherlands. The airline’s inaugural flight used its sole aircraft at the time, an 11-seat de Havilland Dove, flying from Amsterdam to Majorca in the Mediterranean. In 1959, Schroeder acquired the first Douglas DC-3, registered PH-MAA. He served as president and CEO for 40 years until his retirement in 1998. Johan Martin Schroeder passed away on 2 October 2024 at the age of 93.
