The Ford Cargo is a forward-control cab-over-engine truck first launched by Ford of Britain in 1981 as a modern successor to its D-Series range. It quickly became a versatile and popular commercial vehicle across the UK and Europe, used in regional distribution, haulage and specialist roles thanks to robust chassis and good driver visibility. The curtainside lorry version offered flexible load access for palletised freight and everyday haulage work. Ford’s Cargo range won International Truck of the Year in 1982 and remained influential through the 1980s and 1990s.
