History:

Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 was the last major production variant of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 “Gustav” series — a new-built design, not a rebuild of earlier airframes. It appeared in November 1944 and remained in production until the end of World War II, with about 2,600 units completed. The G-10 featured a more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine, improved streamlined cowling, and the “Erla-Haube” clear-view canopy.

The standard armament mirrored earlier G-models, while the G-10/U4 variant replaced the usual cannon with a 30 mm MK 108 cannon firing through the propeller hub. The G-10 was the fastest of the G-series and served as one of the last piston-engine fighters fielded by the Luftwaffe.
