The Re 6/6 is a powerful six-axle electric locomotive operated by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Developed to replace the Ae 6/6 on demanding routes, it became the backbone of heavy-duty operations on the Gotthard line. Entering service in 1972, this locomotive combines strength with reliability, making it a landmark in Swiss railway engineering.

With an hourly output of 7,850 kW and a maximum speed of 140 km/h, the Re 6/6 remains one of the most capable locomotives in Switzerland, still in service today for both freight and passenger duties across challenging alpine routes.
