Details

The BR Mk2 coaches entered service in 1964 as a upgrad to the outdated Mk1 coaches. These coaches featured vacuum brakes, so they could run with Mk1 stock, Dual heating system (steam & electric), pressure ventilation and wood panelling. Later models were fitted with air operated disc brakes for services between Glasgow to Edinburgh.
