Description
The class 319 EMU series entered service in 1987 and was manufactured by British Rail Engineering Limited. These units featured a dual-voltage power system capable of operating on 25 kV 50 Hz AC from overhead wires or 750 V DC from a third rail. After construction they were sent off to operate on lines from London to Liverpool and beyond.
