The Ford Mustang Boss 429 is one of the most legendary high-performance muscle cars ever produced, developed by Ford Motor Company to meet homologation requirements for NASCAR competition. Introduced in 1969, the Boss 429 was created to house the formidable 429 cubic inch (7.0-litre) semi-hemispherical V8 engine, an engineering masterpiece designed for high-speed racing and extreme durability.

Based on the Ford Mustang SportsRoof body, the Boss 429 required extensive modifications to accommodate its large engine. Ford contracted Kar Kraft to carry out these conversions, which included widening the engine bay, revising the suspension, and strengthening the chassis. The result was a car that combined raw power with improved handling characteristics, although it remained a rare and exclusive model due to its specialised production process.

Manufactured only for the 1969 and 1970 model years, fewer than 1,400 examples were built, making the Boss 429 one of the rarest and most sought-after Mustangs ever produced.
