The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is one of the brand’s most successful compact executive car ranges and has been a cornerstone of Mercedes-Benz’s model line-up since its introduction in 1993. Developed as the successor to the Mercedes-Benz 190 (W201), the C-Class was designed to offer premium build quality, comfort and advanced engineering in a more compact and accessible executive saloon format.

The first-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W202) launched in 1993, offering saloon and estate variants with a range of petrol and diesel engines. It established the formula that would define the model line for decades: refined driving dynamics, strong safety standards and understated luxury. The W202 quickly became popular across Europe as both a private and company car.

In 2000, the second-generation W203 C-Class introduced a more modern design and improved interior quality, alongside increased use of electronic systems and enhanced engine efficiency. This was followed by the W204 generation in 2007, which brought sharper styling, improved build quality and a more dynamic driving experience, helping the C-Class compete strongly with rivals such as the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
