Description
Concorde British Airways Union Flag Nose Down (1:500)
This Herpa 539203 Concorde model is a precision 1:500 scale die-cast replica, depicting aircraft G-BOAG in British Airways’ final Union Flag livery.
The model features the iconic Concorde supersonic airframe, including its slender delta wing, long pointed nose, and distinctive droop-nose configuration displayed in the landing position. The “nose down” detail highlights Concorde’s unique ability to tilt its nose for improved pilot visibility during takeoff and landing.
The livery represents the final evolution of British Airways’ Concorde branding, combining the airline’s white fuselage with the stylised Union Flag tail design, introduced in the late Concorde era as a symbol of British aviation identity.
With a wingspan of 51 mm, the model is compact yet highly recognisable, making it a centerpiece for any 1:500 scale collection.
Unlike modern airliners, this release captures a retired aviation icon that defined an entire era of speed and luxury travel, making it a must-have centerpiece in any serious 1:500 collection.

Historical Background
The Concorde was a joint British-French supersonic transport developed by Aérospatiale and British Aircraft Corporation, entering commercial service in 1976. It remains one of the most technologically advanced passenger aircraft ever flown, capable of cruising at over Mach 2.
G-BOAG was delivered to British Airways in 1980 and served throughout the airline’s Concorde fleet operations until retirement in 2003.
During its operational life, Concorde primarily served premium transatlantic routes, most famously London Heathrow to New York JFK, reducing flight times to under three hours. The aircraft became a symbol of speed, exclusivity, and engineering excellence.
The Union Flag livery was introduced late in Concorde’s service life as part of British Airways’ corporate identity refresh, replacing earlier schemes such as Negus and Landor. It remains one of the most recognisable airline liveries in aviation history.
After retirement, G-BOAG was preserved and is now displayed at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, where it continues to represent the legacy of supersonic passenger travel.
