Details
The Bavarian Zugspitzbahn of the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG is one of the oldest mountain railways in Germany along with the Wendelsteinbahn. The route leads from Garmisch Partenkirchen directly to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain. The route begins with the valley railway between Garmisch Partenkirchen and Grainau, from there the steep section turns into a cogwheel railway to the Zugspitze. The Tallok 1 and 4 and the 4-axle passenger coaches are still in use.
