This highly detailed OO gauge model coach pack represents one of eight pairs of vehicles introduced by British Railways in 1949 to offer a unique dining experience.

The concept originated with Oliver Bulleid, the former Southern Railway Chief Mechanical Engineer. This particular pair operated on the Eastern Region and comprised a Composite Dining Car alongside a ‘Tavern Coach’.

Inside, each tavern coach was styled to evoke an olde English pub, featuring tiled floors, whitewashed walls, ‘oak’ beams, high-backed settles, and soft illumination from lantern-style lighting—capturing the charm and character of mid-20th century British railway catering.
