Details

The KFA intermodal wagons were built in Finland in the late 1980s for Tiphook Rail, using bogies and components reclaimed from redundant wagons such as TEA tankers. Each wagon measured 60 ft in length and was designed for the efficient transport of containers and other intermodal freight. A total of 240 wagons were produced, providing a versatile and cost-effective solution for growing container traffic on the British rail network. Their robust construction and distinctive appearance make KFA wagons a notable feature of late 20th-century intermodal operations.
