Details
Enhance your modern freight operations with this highly detailed TT:120 scale TTA tank wagon triple pack, presented in the distinctive Procor/Amoco grey livery. Based on the acclaimed OO gauge tooling, these models deliver exceptional levels of detail, making them ideal for realistic petroleum traffic on contemporary layouts.
Introduced by British Rail in the 1960s, TTA tank wagons offered a 45-ton capacity, more than doubling that of earlier designs. They became a common sight across the UK rail network, transporting fuel and chemical products in block trains and mixed freight consists well into the early 2000s.
This set includes three individually numbered wagons (57484, 57485, and 57486), representing the transitional period of the 1980s when Procor UK Ltd took over BRT operations. Each wagon features authentic branding, combining updated Procor/Amoco markings with retained BRT decals, accurately reflecting real-world fleet changes of the time.
Expertly finished with precise colours and a wide range of printed safety labels, these wagons are perfect for running together or alongside earlier TTA releases. They pair seamlessly with locomotives such as the British Rail Class 37 and British Rail Class 66, making them ideal for long, realistic fuel trains.
The TTA tank wagon was introduced by British Rail in the 1960s as a higher-capacity solution for liquid freight, quickly becoming a mainstay of the UK’s petroleum transport network. Built into the 1970s, many remained in service for decades, reflecting their durability and versatility.
During the 1980s, ownership and leasing structures evolved, with companies such as Procor UK Ltd taking over fleets previously operated by BRT. This resulted in wagons carrying mixed branding, as seen in this set, offering a highly authentic representation of real-world freight operations during the transition period.
