?The Fiat CR.42 CN Falco was a night fighter variant of the Fiat CR.42 Falco, a biplane fighter developed by Fiat Aviazione. Introduced in 1940, the CR.42 CN was equipped with additional equipment for night operations, including wing-mounted spotlights and extended engine exhausts to reduce visibility. These modifications enabled the aircraft to engage enemy targets during nighttime missions. Despite its agility, the CR.42 CN was outclassed by faster, more heavily armed monoplanes. Nevertheless, it served in various theatres during World War II, including North Africa and the Balkans. The CR.42 CN was eventually withdrawn from frontline service as more advanced aircraft became available.?
