The Hawker Hurricane Mk I was a pivotal British single-seat fighter aircraft of the 1930s and 1940s, designed by Sir Sydney Camm and introduced into service in December 1937. Powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it featured a fabric-covered wing and was armed with eight .303 Browning machine guns. The Mk I variant was the first production version, with subsequent models incorporating metal-covered wings and improved armament. The Hurricane played a crucial role during the Battle of Britain, claiming 60% of Luftwaffe losses. Over 14,000 units were produced, serving in various roles and theaters during World War II.
