Italian MAS 2a Serie (1:35 Scale)

The MAS 2a Series were Italian motor torpedo boats (Motoscafo Armato Silurante) developed in the late 1930s and early 1940s. These vessels measured approximately 18.7 meters in length and displaced around 22 tons. Powered by Isotta Fraschini engines, they achieved speeds up to 42 knots. Armaments included two 450 mm torpedoes, a 20 mm Breda cannon, and depth charges. Notably, MAS 2a Series boats served in various theaters during World War II, including Lake Ladoga, where they engaged Soviet forces. Their design emphasized speed and agility, making them effective in coastal operations. However, their light construction sometimes compromised seaworthiness in rough conditions.
