Developed in the early years of the Second World War for US forces, this three-axle 6x6 vehicle was designed to transport a full infantry squad of up to 12 soldiers, providing reliable mobility across a wide range of battlefield conditions.

The WC series evolved from earlier 1930s two-axle designs and quickly proved itself as a highly capable and dependable off-road military truck. The WC-62 and WC-63 variants were particularly valued for their robustness and ability to operate effectively over rough terrain, making them a key component of Allied logistics during and after the war.

Some versions were fitted with an M2 heavy machine gun for defensive purposes, increasing their battlefield utility. The WC-63 variant also included a winch system, further enhancing its recovery and towing capability in difficult environments.
