Recreate one of the most distinctive Italian reconnaissance vehicles of the Second World War with a detailed plastic model kit of the Camionetta Desertica Modello 42 “Sahariana”. Developed for the Italian Royal Army, this specialised desert vehicle was based on the reliable chassis and mechanical components of the AB 41 armoured car, adapted specifically for operations in North Africa.

The harsh desert environment created the need for a fast, lightweight reconnaissance vehicle capable of operating over sand and rough terrain. The Sahariana was designed with a low-profile body and large wheels, giving it excellent mobility in desert conditions and making it ideal for long-range scouting missions and rapid raids behind enemy lines.

Its operational range allowed it to undertake extended reconnaissance and harassment missions far from base support. Armament varied depending on configuration and mission role, including the Breda 20/65 Mod. 1935 machine gun, the 47/32 anti-tank gun, or the 20 mm Solothurn anti-tank rifle, providing flexibility in both offensive and defensive engagements.
