The Ge 6/6 electric locomotive was introduced by the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in 1921 to handle heavy freight and passenger traffic across Switzerland’s challenging Alpine routes. Known as the “Rhaetian Crocodile” for its articulated design and long nose sections, it featured six powered axles and delivered 880 kW of traction power. With a maximum speed of 55 km/h, it served reliably for decades, becoming a symbol of Swiss narrow-gauge engineering.
