Details:
The 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans marked the beginning of Matra’s rise in international endurance racing, with the striking Matra MS620 car number 41 making its Le Mans debut at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe. Entered by Matra Sports, the blue Matra MS620 was driven by French racing talents Jean-Pierre Beltoise and Johnny Servoz-Gavin during one of the most famous eras of endurance motorsport.
Powered by a 1.9-liter BRM V8 engine and built with advanced lightweight engineering inspired by Matra’s aerospace background, the MS620 showcased innovative French prototype design and high-speed performance. Although car number 41 retired with gearbox failure during the race, the Matra MS620 became an important step in the company’s development toward future Le Mans victories in the 1970s.
For slot car collectors and vintage endurance racing fans, the 1966 Matra MS620 number 41 remains a rare and highly desirable classic. Its sleek aerodynamic bodywork, iconic French racing blue livery, and historic Le Mans heritage make it a standout addition to any classic slot car collection or 1960s endurance racing grid.
