Details:

The historic 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans featured the pioneering Matra MS620 car number 43, one of the first prototypes that launched Matra’s legendary Le Mans racing program. Entered by Matra Sports SARL and driven by future endurance racing stars Henri Pescarolo and Jean-Pierre Jaussaud, the sleek blue Matra MS620 represented France’s ambitious challenge against the dominant Ford and Ferrari teams.

Powered by a high-revving 1.9-liter BRM V8 engine and built with lightweight aerospace-inspired engineering, the Matra MS620 combined advanced aerodynamics with innovative prototype design. Car number 43 showed impressive pace during the race before retiring with engine problems after 38 laps, but the car played an important role in the development of Matra’s future Le Mans-winning machines of the 1970s.

For slot car collectors and vintage endurance racing fans, the 1966 Matra MS620 number 43 is a rare and highly desirable Le Mans classic. Its iconic French racing blue livery, low-slung prototype styling, and historic motorsport heritage make it a standout addition to any slot car collection, classic Le Mans grid, or 1960s endurance racing display.
