Details:

The exciting 1973 24 Hours of Le Mans featured the powerful Ferrari 312 PB car number 17, one of Ferrari’s factory-entered challengers in the battle against Matra for Le Mans glory. Entered by Ferrari SEFAC, the sleek Ferrari 312 PB Long Tail was driven by Tim Schenken and Carlos Reutemann.

Powered by a high-revving 3.0-liter flat-12 engine derived from Ferrari Formula One technology, the Ferrari 312 PB combined lightweight construction, advanced aerodynamics, and exceptional speed on the long Mulsanne Straight. Car number 17 qualified fifth on the grid and showed strong pace during the race before retiring with engine failure, highlighting both the performance and endurance challenges faced by 1970s prototype race cars.

For slot car collectors and classic endurance racing fans, the 1973 Ferrari 312 PB number 17 is a true Le Mans icon. Its low-profile bodywork, legendary Ferrari racing red livery, and historic participation in one of the greatest eras of sports car racing make it a standout addition to any slot car collection, vintage Le Mans grid, or classic motorsport display.
