Details
These flat wagons with the heavy double stakes are a familiar sight on the freight trains of the Rhaetian Railway. They are primarily used to transport heavy loads such as logs, steel girders or pipes. The wagons built in the 1990s are 16.54 meters long over the buffers, weigh 17.6 tons empty and can be loaded with between 22 and 42 tons, depending on the type of train. For special cases, there are separate end walls that can be inserted into the stake holders on the buffer beams and secure the load to the front and to the rear. Very often this is done when loading heavy and large diameter pipes.
This is a model of an RhB type Sp-w double stake car. The paint scheme and lettering are true to the original for Era VI. High end walls, which serve to secure the load in the prototype. Without a brakeman's platform, with a handbrake wheel mounted on the side.
