Details

The Durango & Silverton Railroad, which runs in the mountains of Colorado, is world famous. This route was operated by the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad until the 1970s, but then sold and continued as a purely tourist railway line. Although it is a narrow-gauge railway with a gauge of 3 feet (914 mm), the vehicles need not shy away from comparison with European standard gauge locomotives and wagons, as trains with up to 10 of the well-known vintage wagons are more the rule than the exception. Especially for special traffic and historic trains, these cars are also available in dark red and dark green colors, whereby the dark red cars have a name in addition to the car number.

This is a model of the "Prospector" classic passenger car of the Durango & Silverton Railroad in the dark red livery. The paint scheme and lettering are prototypical for Era VI. Doors that open, complete interior. Metal wheel sets.
