Details

The Märklin 46720 Crane Train Set with Digital Functions is a highly detailed Era VI Deutsche Bahn Gleisbau GmbH (DBG) maintenance-of-way work train representing a modern railway construction and recovery consist in service from around 2006 onwards. This sophisticated H0 scale set reproduces a complete crane working train, designed for track maintenance, lifting operations, and rail engineering scenarios.

The set includes a fully operational motorised crane wagon, a crane support wagon, and a service equipment wagon. The crane wagon is equipped with integrated miniature geared motors and an mfx digital decoder, enabling precise remote-controlled movement of the crane functions, including rotation, boom movement, and hook operation. The crane support wagon features a dedicated boom rest structure, while the equipment wagon carries maintenance gear and a built-in rear marker light (red tail lamp).

The crane unit can be controlled digitally using compatible Märklin controllers such as Mobile Station or Central Station, allowing realistic working train operations directly on the layout. The set is finished in a distinctive ocean-blue DBG livery, reflecting modern Deutsche Bahn engineering department stock.

All wagons are fitted with Relex couplers for reliable operation and can be decoupled for flexible layout use. The total length of the set over buffers is approximately 32.3 cm, making it suitable for compact work train formations and depot scenes.
