Details

The Märklin 47408 is a highly detailed H0 scale intermediate freight wagon designed for modern “Rollende Landstraße” (Rolling Road) operations by RAlpin AG. It represents a Saadkms-type low-floor transport wagon used in cross-Alpine combined transport, where complete road trucks are carried by rail through Switzerland. The model is finished in a realistic quartz-grey livery reflecting its operational condition from around 2018 in Era VI.

This intermediate wagon is constructed with a durable metal body and is designed specifically for use within longer wagon formations, working in combination with end wagons such as the Märklin 47407 set. It does not feature removable buffer beams, as it is intended to be positioned between terminal wagons in a complete Rolling Road consist. The model includes wheel chocks for securing truck loads as well as special couplers designed for low-floor wagon operation.

With a length over buffers of approximately 21.4 cm, the 47408 integrates seamlessly into Märklin H0 AC digital and analogue systems. It is ideal for building realistic modern European freight formations, particularly Alpine transit services, and is fully compatible with other RAlpin Rolling Road vehicles and accessories.
