Details

The Märklin 86009 is a colourful and highly detailed Z scale freight wagon featuring a Smiley® themed design as part of the 2026 special edition series. This second release of the popular Smiley wagon is based on a two-axle refrigerated wagon of type Tehs 50 and represents Era VI modern private operator traffic with a playful and contemporary advertising livery.

The model features an elaborately printed body with the iconic Smiley® graphics applied in high-quality multi-colour decoration. It includes finely detailed separately applied metal end platforms and black nickel-plated disc wheelsets for smooth and reliable running on Märklin Z gauge layouts. The wagon is designed with prototypical proportions and reflects a modern interpretation of a standard European refrigerated freight wagon.

With a length over buffers of 54 mm, the 86009 is ideal for compact Z scale layouts while adding a striking visual highlight to freight consists. It is equipped for smooth operation on Märklin Mini-Club track systems and is suitable for both collectors and operators who enjoy themed or novelty freight wagons.
